The Maine – Inside of You Lyrics | 12 years ago |
this sounds like a friends with benefits kind of relationship to me. it's all alcohol and sex, but then he decides he wants something more because he's tired of "heading nowhere." the girl's never going to open up to him, though, so even after he falls for her, she only wants sex. i like how it analyzes the "fragile game" of hooking up with one person consistently- feelings can get so twisted since you're giving yourself to the other person physically but not emotionally. the guy can be inside of her but he can never see inside of her |
Taking Back Sunday – Where My Mouth Is Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i love this song. i interpret it completely differently (nothing like the writer intended, but it works for me). i had it all, sitting on top of the world with a bunch of friends who treated me like shit but gave me connections. they lied and fucked with me, so i threw it all away just to prove that i could live without them. i put my money where my mouth was |
The Fray – Syndicate Lyrics | 15 years ago |
to me it's about a long distance relationship ("half way around the world/ lies the one thing that you want"), where the two people are working together (syndicating) to make it last until they can be together again ("someday when this is over"). all they do is think about the person ("first thing that arises in your mind when you wake"), and they value the time they do have together ("let me hold you now", "for now is when i hold her"). no idea if that's right, just my interpretation. there are a few lines that don't seem to fit/i don't understand, but ohwell. great song |
Jonas Brothers – Higher Love (Nick Jonas) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is really good. |
Jonas Brothers – Appreciate (Nick Jonas) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
oh wow. this is really good. looking through their lyrics, i'm kind of surprised to find out that some of the jonas brothers' songs have substance to them. their overly-poppy voices, tweenage fans, and similar sound in every song tend to disguise that, which is too bad. |
Augustana – Fire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
anyone know where to find sheet music for this song? or any of the songs from augustana's new album |
Coldplay – Viva la Vida Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i haven't read through all the comments, but i just interpret it as the general story of a man with a lot of potential becoming king, then letting power corrupt him, leading to him being dethroned. "listen as the crowd would sing now the old king is dead, long live the king" the people are happy for him to be the new king "and i discovered that my castles stand on pillars of salt and pillars of sand" he's realizing that his position as a leader is unstable "never an honest word, and that was when i ruled the world" he became a liarrr under the influence of power "It was a wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in" symbolizes him joining the same league of other past corrupt leaders "People couldn’t believe what I’d become" all of his past supporters were shocked at his shift from a good leader to a bad one that's my general interpretation. i don't have enough historical background to deduce exactly which past leader it could be about (if any). great song. |
Nada Surf – Blizzard of '77 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"I know I have got a negative edge That's why I sharpen all the others a lot" thoughts on that line? |
Arctic Monkeys – Balaclava Lyrics | 16 years ago |
katie's summary is the one i've always thought of it as, but the sex idea fits so perfectly that i'm not sure anymore. and if it was a girl hanging out with her new boyfriend's gang and him being worried, i don't really know where the "now the shaggers perform" part would come in.. i dont know. but i love this song and "You'll be able to post any day of the most For the sights of all time" should be "will you be able to boast/that the day held the most flawless heist of all time" (it's in the am songbook). |
