basically, i thought this song was about a goodbye (obviously) but i did think it was more like a death than the end of a relationship because of the whole 'sun will set for you' thing. the lines 'your friends all beg for you to stay' is their person's friends/relatives all mourning him/her, and the whole first stanza is kinda like him saying how the person whose point of view it is from doesnt want to accept that this person is gone, and is shutting himself off from the truth.
the only thing that throws my theory is the 'sometimes beginnings/solutions aren't so simple / sometimes goodbyes the only way' part coz i cnt relate that to my idea |
