i dont think there is a general meaning to this song, other than adding to the headfuckery of Vanishing Point. |

I think the Trotsky line, like someone said earlier, is after he was exiled, and, while I'm no expert on Leon, I assume he "spread the message" of Socialism in the various countries he entered and exited, hence "serenade the naked". |

bgbobcat77, the fact that WTLB was a Memphis Minnie cover doesn't diminish the fact that it's a far better, and more original song. Same goes for the highly underrated In My Time Of Dying. |

Houses is Zep's best albums, because of the sheer bravado of this, Dancing Days, No Quarter and D'yer Mak'er. Led Zep do funk better than most funk artists. |

The band were comparing the last days of Ronald Reagan, the Iran-Iraq war, and global recessions to the early 50's "Red Scare" period. The same song could still be done today, which is slightly disconcerting. |

teardrop3d, first of all i'm going to assume the "teardrop" you're referring to is the one by massive attack. MA aren't a girl group, they are a trip hop group like PH, and they mainly use guest vocalists (usually female) on their albums. second of all, teardrop is an original song, written by MA and Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins (who was the vocalist on that song). Finally, they didn't sample the sitar sample, the guitars in Teardrop sound NOTHING like the sitar in Sour Times. Learn your facts.
Great song anyways. |

i think the line "took her home, I nearly made it" didn't have anything to do with a car crash, he just didn't get her (Rita) into bed. although the noises at the end might prove me wrong. |
