well yeah kevin is atheist but it seems it is about struggle he once had about believing in god and now it seems he gave up and no longer believes in god 'Cause I've lost my faith in man Just like I once lost faith in you this line indicates that he did once have faith but no longer does, kind of sad, as for god controlling wars, theres are many battles and wars that happen in the bible, its how the world works, god doesnt make the world perfect because then we would have no need for god, the perfect world is heaven, same thing with disasters and things, they make us appreciate our life and how good most of us have it, but yeah no need for a religios arguement people are going to belive waht they believe and changing their minds especially over the internet is pretty much impossible |

i think this song is about giving up on your dreams....i think in his case it was because of a problem with alchohol, i think it is a reference to many americans who arent living their dreams because they let things get in the way, he seems to make a reference to girl who wanted to be an actor "I raced concrete to the front row seats Threw her bows and whiskey kisses and left her on the street With her hands out And her head down She’s nothing more than a movie that never panned out" also it talks about how destiny forgot about him and how he knows "life dont get much better than this" which is maybe him falling under the impression you can never live your dreams....kind of sad |
