I was high the other night and listening to this for the 200th-300th time, and I had a revelation about the lyrics. I can't remember specifics, but it was basically a relationship starting out in youth (high-school). Hence the innocence. Slowly the relationship falls apart, but only according to the the girl. Then all off a sudden, boom, marriage (And with this ring I wed thee true). And then the last bit of the song is the girl reflecting upon when they were young and their relationship was good (we're forever frozen...). Maybe one night they got back on track or something, or maybe it was just a memory, who knows (Night has come to hold us young). Of all the hundreds of times I've listened to this song, the outro has never ceased to be amazing. It has an indescribable, yet beautiful feeling to it, which is why I think it's so good. |
