In my opinion, i think this song is about writers block. And I deffinitly think anythony was not under the influence of absolutly anything when he wrote it. Its so straight up and clear. Which is weird for him. Its still good stuff. Writers block, and recording. I don't know about you guys, but the entire intro is screaming drugs to me "Sweet arm candy" "hold you in my talons" "How I make it all go away" Sounds like shooting something up with a needle. As for the whole song, I think its just lyrical beauty and metaphor. If this is a concecpt album told from Max's point of view. He is watching this girls life being ruined by drugs, and maybe he liked her and wanted to be with her. But drugs are ruining her, and he wants to try and find the lost soul of the girl he once knnew before drugs. I think its something like that. Just my opinion. |

It reminds me of House of Leaves. How when Navidson and Tom were trying to find out about the mysterious 5/16 of a inch added on to the house. They type in the measurements into a computer and pray that they were just making a mistake and everything was normal. Hence,"We were so secure" as in, secure in our understanding of phisiccs. You would have to read this book, or this chapter to understand. But I believe, one of the meanings behind this song pertains to the discovery of the mystry in the House of Leaves. |

Old song, great stuff, I think this is where Anthony was really starting to make that unique techno LSD sound with the whole band. Similar to "Juturna" and 'on letting go" Albums by circa survive. Anyway, the song is pretty much about how he tried his hardest to believe in a god but realizes it does not matter how much you put faith into it. And probably about his parents or something telling him there is god and stuff, I really dont want to go to deep if anyone really loves this song just notify me and Ill do it for you. |
