Yeah i do think its about curtis at least in part. the last verse kind of sounds like something written from curtis's perspective, when he told his wife to leave the night of his suicide. that coupled iwth the fact the may 18th 1980 was a sunday so they would have found his body on monday. i dont know. just a thought. |

In Rainbows just proves further how good radiohead are. each album they make creates efective and mind blowing songs while at the same time addresses and strongly conveys a common theme, in rainbows being a realization of and dissatisfaction with a surreal normal-ness and masked injustice in life that just doesn't seem right. this theme has been throughout all of their albums, but seems to be very dominant in thiis one. this song, to me, is the pinnacle of the album. the bridge and the end of the song 'eaten by the worms', 'i'll hit the bottom' are testament to this. hes just sung about 'this is my chance' and then he realizes his idealism isnt all that he might have thought. you could say im interpreting this way too much, but im really feeling what im pretty sure id the genius of radiohead. every song on the album is unique but when you pull them all together you get this sense of somethings not right here. bodysnatchers reinforces this alot. |

this whole album has bush-hating undertones, whether thom denies it or not. im thinking not only is he talking about media in this song but hes also talking about the american government. of course you can get that feeling from most of the songs on this album. i have not personally read 1984 but im pretty sure the song goes along with that too with what ive heard about the book |

and champion, i think it is about drugs. i think the chorus is him, in some way (whether its sparked by a girl or not) is him seeing himself in the eyes of himself, possibly younger, if that makes any sense, and realizing that his younger, more innocent self is still there and hes just gonna stop and rest and think a little bit, cuz there might still be hope for him |

def bout him stopping and thinking while he's getting towards the end of two days on coke. very beautiful lyrics.
especially the chorus where he kinda sees in himself that theres still a chance for him and during the verses where hes just reminiscing about before he got addicted and contemplating about needing to "take a ride, just recline in the faraway Got to take some time to realize That my friends they come And the lines they go by"

i think it might be about finding yourself manipulated into something you never intended to be by someone or something you thought was trustworthy and not being able to escape it. the whole first verse questioning what went wrong where, the line "Your mouth moves only with someone's hand up your ass" like a puppet, and the bridge, where he says "They got a skin and they put me in/all the lines wrapped around my face/and for anyone else to see/im a lie." like you can't control whats being done to you. and the title kind of reinforces that i think. just a thought |

Im listening to this song for the first time. its sweet. havn't tried to analyze it yet. it sounds alot more like the ep than some of the other songs. the album is most magnificent. i think this an tiger mountain peasant song are my favorites. |

probably my favorite coldplay song. very profound yet simple. don't take anything for granted. good strong message. i kick myself and bring up that stupid counting crows remake that was all over the radio a couple years ago about paying a paradise to put up a parking lot. this song is very similar. |

can u say the most unoriginal lyrics ever? these guys are supposed to be poets, and all they can sing about is doin it and driving fast cars and dealing drugs. dont give me any gangsta life style shit. this is what happens when good music is adopted by big industries. it gets trashed. sure the songs alright but i think rap/hip-hop has lost its original charm, at least lyric-wise |
