That last little bit really speaks to me: "I was a duke last Halloween This year gonna be James Dean Just wish I knew who we are in between" My interpretation was that on Halloween he's got these definite identities and he can say he's going to be this or that. But can the same be said for the time in between for anybody? I see it as referring to the uncertainty and general ambiguity associated with personal identity and one's sense of self. Can we say with equal certainty what we are in between? If that even makes any sense, that's just how I see it :) |
