DevilsLittleSister couldn't be anymore agreeable. Jews were prosecuted for numerous more centuries than African Americans, so get over it. Coincidentally my boyfriend also coined this as my theme song due to my few moments when I take some things too seriously. If a person was in all black and wearing something that looked second-rate or generic, I would go into bitch mode which of course is a behavior loosely reflected in this song. For the men (and few women) whove dated or are dating girls like this portrayed in the song, you can understand the entire 'uber-Goth' attitude where the woman takes her very appearence and lifestyle far too seriously and won't even appear in public because her roots are showing. That however isn't a problem with me since I go with my natural hair color and I've accepted being a redhead, but the girl portrayed in the lyrics is simply the stereotypical uber-Goth with an ego more in depth than her fake hair color is black. |

As you get older, eventually things that once brought you joy now seem insignificant like Halloween in this case. Perhaps what the song's portraying is the transformation of ecstasy to bitterness as you grow older. |

What I think Emilie's trying to portray in this is less literal than an actual ghost; the ghost could be symbolizing someone deeper then the incredibly shallow men anticipating her, and someone who inspires her while completely captivating her on several levels. |
