This song reminds me of when I was starting to realize the road I was on wasn't the road I wanted to be on. It was time for me to change my life around. It's when I began to live the Christian life I always wanted to live. Everything in this song reminds me of things I thought when I was going through this process. "Second chances are too few and far between Will to change this circumstance eludes me still Should I grow another shell in which to live? Should I grow another shell and not forgive?" I wanted my second chance, it was just a matter of whether I was given one or not. It's a hard thing to do, and this song really reflects on that. |

Hm, I've always considered this song a song about a soldier. "Propped up by lies with promises" It's like saying while their there at war they're told all of these things that are suppose to keep them going, but they know it's just a bunch of lies. They're empty promises. "i'm overexisting in limbo i'm over the myths and placebos" Limbo can be defined as, "a place or state of imprisonment or confinement." Placebos means, "a substance having no pharmacological effect but given merely to satisfy a patient who supposes it to be a medicine." After seeing the definition of these two words, I'm sure you can see how I would consider this a song about a soldier. "tell me i'm a part of history tell me i can have it all" Telling them they'll go down in history as a hero would give them a little strength to move on. However, as we look around and see the little support given to the soldiers these days, we can see this is nothing but another empty promise. |
