| Flyleaf – Something I Can Never Have (NIN cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I can see the slightest bit of religious reference, it's obviously not about god "recall the taste of your tears" it's someone they comforted or wanted them to feel better. It's about loving someone you can't have, for whatever reason, and thinking that if you have them, everything will be alright. | |
| Falling Up – Symmetry Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I don't believe in god *ducks the rocks thrown by the falling up fans* but I love the band and have read a different meaning into all the songs. It makes me think of feeling like you belong, the way that we're part of nature and it's something you have to experience to understand. I've only felt this way when I've climbed a mountain and stand at the top looking around. All I can say is that it's an experience that can change your outlook. |

| Evanescence – You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I can't bring myself to take the song out of my library, and again, the power of the internet means that no matter how many times people complain, it will always be out there. Forget Amy Lee getting copyrights (but complete respects to her, she's a goddess), it should be illegal to keep a song this beautiful away from others. | |
| Avril Lavigne – Nobody's Home Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song just about makes me cry whenever I hear it. I think the main interpretation is that "nobody's home" can be written as "nobody is her home" because she feels like no one loves her, and there's no one she can go crying to, so everything is locked up inside. |

| Evanescence – Even In Death Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think there are sort of two meanings... the main one is, of course, losing someone and loving them so much that you feel like you can bring them back. But also, I think it's about clinging to a relationship that never really happened, or loving someone who pays no attention to your existence. The person who is "gone" is the one who feels nothing for her, and everyone thinks this is obvious: "they took you away from me". But she has convinced herself that they love her and in her mind, they are happily together - "I see your shadow" "I hear you singing to me". So I read it as deluding yourself in that respect. But that's just me >_> |

| Evanescence – The Last Song I'm Wasting on You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
When I listen the song, it's definitely "they're my own veins," which makes the meaning clearer. I think the song is about falling out of love with an abusive person (physical or emotional). "sparkling grey, they're my own veins" - now everything about her is suddenly her own, new "any more than a whisper..." - she's afraid that the abusive person will have another moment of remorse and beg her to come back "just get through this day" - just concentrate on living without them, a step at a time "give up your way, you could be anything" - they could do anything they wanted, but they're just hurting others "give up my way..." - if she admits she was in the wrong, she loses all her freedom from abuse "sickened..." - they are sometimes kind and sometimes hurtful, and she wants them to see it's not her fault, it's human faults "give up my way..." - if she ends this and changes her relationship, she won't be held down any longer "so run..." - their opinion no longer matters, she's free "i've found my way..." - she's seen the light, moved on, and left forever |
