the chorus: You cut me down I feel no pain now This nightmare is almost through I hit the ground No need to feel now My time here is all but done All but done after listening through it again and again, it seems to me this is more literal than figurative. just like the dude above me who talks about him hanging himself, which the song is undoubtedly about, the chorus is somebody literally cutting the rope he's hanging himself with, as he falls to the ground. it also kinda sounds like it was too late, and he's dead anyway |

avogradros number?,...are you kidding me? but its not about suicide...or gang activity, although that would be closer. Its Eric's idea of the corporate world, which he mentions in multiple songs. Just the idea that a corporate job can kill you...except he makes it a lot more poetic |

not even close....well actually enkoi has it prety right. If anybody follows Eric's career, you know he has a book of poetry/prose out. the piece titled There are Monsters Everywhere, which is also up on the myspace for either him or his book, is what this song is based off of. Its one of the longest stories in his book, but this guy who had been diagnosed with HIV comes into a bar where Eric was in oughkeepsie, looking to pick a fight so he could bleed into somebdoy to give them HIV too. read the story and youll understand what this song is BASED on, not 100% about. |
