Am I the only person who sees a pattern here?? this song immediately struck me as a response/shot at all the new popular "punk" bands that are dominating the air waves. this song directly mimics the verse melody of "lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" by panic at the disco, and the line "Dance, fucker dance" ?? come on! fallout boy! I mean the name of the song is "You're gonna go far, kid" Really people?? I think this is a statement that the offspring paved the way for bands like this and did it without giving in to the popular demographic. they are still true to their roots and are still pumping out great music. where these bands would sell there souls for a few more cd sales. Just listen to the song and lyrics with that in mind and tell me what you think. |

sabio - thats another really good interpretation. although what i first thought when i heard it was even eerier to me, it sounded as though i was the one in the coffin, listening to the voices outside slowly fade away, rather than hearing a voice that is slowly being muffled by the earth. which gave me this feeling of claustrophobia. it just amazes me how well these four guys can make you feel anything really. |

i know. i love the fact that it's a ballad too. as amazing as all their lyrics are, dustin doesnt usually write a stripped down love song. and it fits the somber yet hopeful tone of the movie perfectly, which i also loved. |

sabio. you couldnt be more right man. that to me is the most beautiful thing about music, because life can be so frustrating, and alot of times that is when its hardest to put your thoughts into words, and hearing a song that says everything you've been thinking, but could never make sense of....well thats what keep me looking at the stars. it gives me hope in everything. and thrice epitomizes that. simply incredible |
