Anyway, this song reminds me a lot of Silent Hill. The whole concept of being trapped in darkness with everything coming to get you. And never really escape from Silent Hill. ("Trapped in this world you're lost forever") Also with the sirens. In Silent Hill a siren sounds when the "darkness" is about to come.
I think it's pretty cool. |

Oh yeah, I forgot. The song to me was about a woman who had seen a lot of sorrow and her life. She's become so hopeless and she feels that she can never see happiness and experience joy.
Did I mention how much I love this song?! I can't help it! It's like my most favorite song ever!!! I'd seriously marry someone immediately if they sang that song to me!! |

My first thought about this song was that it was about someone with insomnia and dementia. Especially from the lines "Madness knows my name At 4 O'Clock". And I can relate to that! I have a sleeping disorder and I wake up a lot in the wee hours of the morning. Also, most of the time (especially after a nightmare or during a storm) I'm so out of my mind that I see and hear all manner of things. A part of me wants to go back to sleep, but the other part is afraid to. |

I absolutely LOVE this artist and this poem!!
I agree with Thesaya about it's meaning. It sounds like maybe she was convinced by the ghosts of women to break the hearts of men. (Kind of reminds me of "Willow" a little.) They could be the ghost of women who were by men in their lifetimes.
As far as the last two line go, I think she is referring to the ghosts her "army". And the very last line is probably because, as I said, they were hurt by men in their lifetimes. |
