This song is amazing! It describes perfectly the relationship I want/have with Christ!

The Classic Crime – When The Time Comes Lyrics 17 years ago
I think that it's saying that throughout everything--war, poverty, hatred, etc. there's always love. That love is the one thing in this world that you can't give up.

The Classic Crime – Far from Home Lyrics 17 years ago
I love this song because it says, "Look at the innocence we had, and how we threw it away." That we let ourselves slip from the ideal we had for ourselves when we were children. When all we wanted was to be a mommy or police officer, and we let our lives change--into better or worse.

Dead Poetic – Crashing Down Lyrics 17 years ago
Cossar, I'm going to take a different approach and say that it's talking about the church--old and new.

"Don’t fool the crowd with all your sentiments in vain.
We are alive again. We will survive again.
Don’t turn your back to every move you ever made.
We are alive again. We will survive again."

The "Don't fool the crowd" line sort of means that believers shouldn't sugar coat a relationship with Christ as something that He's not. He's not a free ticket into Heaven if you just believe, He needs a relationship. "Sentiments in vain" is like telling non-believers that it's not a relationship.
"We are alive again. We will survive again" is explaining that the church has gone through a lot. It was persecuted with Saul, went through a bunch of other things and whatnot. Now it's in a slump, but also in a revival. Like it's saying that the body has last this long, it will continue.
"Don't turn your back" is explaining that we can't forget the history of the church, that we can't make the same mistakes that other generations have made.

"We’ve turned our back to every holy war you’ve played.
Will you weep when you feel this love you have killed?
We paint our faces ‘til we leave a stain.
Then all the chemicals are racing in our veins."

"We've turned our back..." says that non-believers can try to get in Christians faces, take away basic rights, and we do nothing.
"Will you weep..." is like saying, "Look, you're taking away the only hope for people by persecuting Christians (in every sense of the word).
"We paint our faces..." radiates that Christians show God's love, and it's like we're painting a bulls-eye on our head for persecution. However, persecution because of our love for God is good=D. "Chemicals..." refers to God's love.

"They paint us immaculate.
Ignoring the fact that we’re shoving our faults in their faces.
They wanted more.
Of the fame, of the scripted, the same,
Of the sacred, the fraud, fabricated.
They wanted more.
Of the fame, of the scripted, the same,
Of the sacred, the fraud, fabricated.
They want it."

"They paint us immaculate....Ignoring the fact that..." Non-believers paint Christians in this "holier than thou" portrait without realizing that we show our flaws for them to see just be being real with them. The last bit of the last verse is saying that non-believers want more of the hypocricy and fakeness of the church to throw at believers.

Again, a different take, but who knows what's right.

Dead Poetic – Vices Lyrics 17 years ago
Despite some lyrics that define gender, this song is really for everyone. It points out our flaws, and shows us that no one but Jesus can handle them. That no one else can take everything that we are--good ad bad, and still love us. It's an amazing song!

Falling Up – The Gathering Lyrics 17 years ago
Hm...this song to me is really a support system. It's like saying that all you have to do is admit that you need God and that He loves you for you to be healed.

"In these places this is all that you need when you want to come back" sort of symbolizes that when you're in an awful situation, all you have to do is give up and let God take control.

Falling Up – Exit Calypsan (Only In My Dreams) Lyrics 17 years ago
I was at a Falling Up concert once when Jesse went into a little bit of detail about it. He said that a friend of his went into a woods, and three days later. Before he began singing he said something about diseases.

To me, this song is saying that it's time. It's time to let go of the dreams of being strong, and not needing anyone. That we need God.
