I agree with TerroristCakes, unique name to say the least, anyway...in an interview in guitar world magazine, jack is asked if this song is his contribution to "the great genre of jailbait songs"? Jack replies with "I don't know, because I'm not sure who that character is. How old is he, the guy who is singing? Maybe he's 16 just like the girl." So the song isn't directly written from his own perspective. It's just some character he came up with...perhaps the character is himself at a younger age, who knows? Aparently Jack doesn't even know. |

It never actually says that the priest payed the bills. The mother was distraught and said "Your daddy gave us this. He's been paying all the bills for years." She could have been talking about the milkman. But I agree with jayemkt...seems to be the best explaination that gives some significance to the boy wearing the milkman's hat. |

| I think there's more to the story than it seems. Is it possible that the milk man is the father and maybe the preacher was actually attacking the mother? The fact that the boy came in with the milk man's hat has to mean something. | |
