| Coldplay – Careful Where You Stand Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I like your interpretation of this meaning. It's very much a kin to mine. If you think about it, this song really is quite saddening...who's to say this guy isn't in love with his best friend who happens to be in love with someone else? That could explain why they always look out for each other. Strangely enough, I still really enjoy listening to this song though it has such a tearful vibe. | |

As with most if not all of you, this song has the mesmerizing effect of making me...Feel. Not many songs these days do but there's something about hearing Chris' voice resounding with that "Here I lie, on my own in a separate sky "...my mind is left dazed by this...everything from melody to lyrics just harmonizes with thoughts of life at times. Is it a war song? maybe. But for me, it's simply put on of the most captivating songs ever penned. Hopefully somebody out there agrees with me. |

| Jars of Clay – Work Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song totally screams desperation! I love it. I mean, it's like you're telling God please don't leave me; without you, I'm nothing. The refrain just sounds like you're crying out to God because you know deep down inside, that you're hurting and vulnerable and you're tired hearing all these "demons" that "look like prophets". Amazing... | |

Though this song may seem to be about many things, in my opinion, the similarity in all our interpretations gives the real meaning. It's about pain no doubt but i think it's more about dealing with it. Fro evryone, ther's always some skeleton in the closet that you just can't seem to ever express or move because you fear that once publicized, it could come back to haunt you. To me, this presents a challenge to all of us as we all would love to remove the incident that caused that skeleton to appear in the first place because it seems the only way to rid ourselves of the fear and suffering as a result of it. Sadly, we all know this could never be so like chester says, we look for something to hide disguise the skeleton with, to hide the pain, to conceal the fear and so we run away from it all. We eclipse it almost.; just try to block it out completely but some days, we can't help but remember what lays latent within ourselves, still wishing that we could one day bury all that happened to us in the sands of time. -Kristal |

I like mikethebigo's interpretation of this song and it's amazing that so many people can listen to one song yet find so many words, phrases, statements to describe what we all believe to be the absolute meaning of such an extraordinary song. It's in a word, astounding that music could provoke the minds of people no matter the race, ethnicity, social status or country to go beyond the usual manner of thinking and just ponder or reflect on it's lyrics. Amazing |

I'm honestly not exactly sure of what this brilliant Coldplay song means. Lyrically, it seems like a bunch of metaphoric language pieced together. "Shoot an apple of my head" "The tiger's waitng to be tamed" "come out upon my seas" "Am I a part of the cure or am I part of the disease" It seems to me that this guy is really unsure about his purpose in life: "confusion never stops/ closing walls and ticking clocks/ gonna come back and take you home" Maybe here, he's noticing that amidst all the things we do in this life, the only thing we're sure of is death and we hope to go to some home i.e. heaven and it's scary for him because he realises that time is slipping away from him. In the end, i think he acknowledges that all he has to live for is death and he's ok with the concept of going home. Then again, this song could have a whole different meaning so...lol |

| James Blunt – Same Mistake Lyrics | 17 years ago |

You know, my boyfirend and I were up at 3.45am just talking and he said this song relates to him. I'd never listened to it before so I got up and listened and I have to say I think devilslittlesister is right except I'd like to make a suggestion. Maybe, just maybe, this guy is one of those people who's reached the place where he's always wanted to be; on top of the world (Look at the stars beneath my feet) but then later on he realises that he's confused about so many things, done so many things wrong so he tries to make them right by himself (I send some men out to fight) only to realise that to change what he's done, he has to change who he's become and it scares him so he attempts to end it all. In that attempt, he then realises that he doesn't want to do this alone anymore i.e. he doesn't want that second chance for himself; instead, he wants to know why he should continue living(Give me reason) and he hopes that one day he'll be able to meet someone who can help him because in his mind, though he's at the top, he feels so alone and down in the dumps (Look at the stars falling down). All in all, another beautiful song by James blunt. |

| The Sundays – Summertime Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I have to say i'm agreeing with mankind716 on this. This girl seems so annoyed with the concept of finding love but she is hopeful that it can happen one way or the other for her. I love this song though. It's really nice and the guitars just give you that fantasy feeling. Maybe that too could add to the meaning of the song in that she is just wondering to herself about love in this dream world with many concepts of finding love! Who knows? | |
| Coldplay – Easy to Please Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Easy to Please is a most beautiful love song. I mean, Chris doesn't make this song too wordy; it's so simply put. He's attempting to let the lady in his life know she needs not try to impress, just be who she is, and he'll love her still and obviously if he's so easy to please, there's nothing that she could really do that would disappoint or repulse him. It's so beautiful like other Coldplay songs e.g.Yellow and Your Love Means Everything. | |
