David Bowie – Queen Bitch Lyrics 14 years ago
Such a great tune, the guitar is catchy as all hell. As a few others in the minority here, it always sounded to me as though it was about a man who was jealous that his boyfriend (or male acquaintance of some sort) was being led off by some woman in the effort to have sex. I never really put it in the perspective that he might be jealous of the man being with the woman because he expresses such disdain for the "Queen Bitch" throughout the entire song, mocking her clothes and mannerisms, why would you want to be with someone who you loath so much? Added to that is when he "throws both his bags down the hall', wouldn't a jealous girlfriend/boyfriend do that to their partner?

Also my favorite line has to be "I have a taste in my mouth/and it's no taste at all!", within the context of the song, I mean come on how f*cking dirty is that! I see this applying more to the guy than the girl but i guess it could work both ways. Still pushing it a bit if you subscribe to the he wants to be with the queen bitch theory.

Wow... this is a pretty harsh tune. The upbeat melody is so strange when layered with the scathing lyrics! Good tune when you're feeling bitter about women

Toadies – Song I Hate Lyrics 16 years ago
Figured it was a song about 'Possum Kingdom', as it wouldn't surprise me if Todd has a lot of resentment towards that song, since most people know that song and that song only, as if it was the only thing this band ever produced. I could be totally wrong though.

ghostabc123 is absolutely correct, thats the thing about most great lyrics, they are slightly ambiguous so they become more personal. He never once mentions Jesus Christ in the lyrics but thats the first thing you all think about. Im sure someone steeped in the Jewish faith would not think of that first. I certainly do not. But either way this is my favorite song off the album

Absolutely Incredible!
The song starts oh-so slowly with Boom's organ, and from there each instrument slowly joins in, steadily building, each impacting you in a meaningful way; Gossard's acoustic, Boom's Piano, Ament's Bass, then Eddie's Vocals, each one's entrance washing over you like a wave, all leading up to McCready entering with his electric, leading you completely out of the darkness created in the beginning of the song straight into the light, to me this song is operatic, I connect with it on so many levels, and there honestly couldn't have been any other way to end the album, How I Choose To Feel Is How I Am

One of my favorite cuts off Vitalogy, while death clearly could be one way to look at it, i prefer to think this is another song about ed's affinity with the ocean and surfing, relating it to taking a drug, and going so long that the sun completly dissolves his sunscreen, peeling his face, but its still not long enough
