okay, so i think the song is about a couple who broke up (the continents divided for a second time...) and now the other person wants to get back together but the other is going to keep her guard up this time. she felt like she was lied to and made mistakes. in the second verse where she says there is an apple with a tougher skin, that is the new her who is going to be protective this time. and i think when she says "all the times you felt so free did you forget how much you once loved me" refers to when they were apart, the other person acted like he was fine and didnt feel anything for her anymore. |
