I kind of relate to this song in this: "When I first met you I knew you were the one. Till you took me home and I met her". It's like the girl met the guy not knowing there was a girlfriend, and fell for him. After she finds out there's a girlfriend, she has to face the problem: "I could have sworn that I was yours You looked at me and said "It's a little too late for bed" We went to a hotel and talked about everything" She fell for him BEFORE she knew there was a girlfriend, so it's a hard thing to get out of because he's still treating her nicely (falling out of love is difficult). So now she knows that she is the "bad guy" and the girlfriend is the "victim" and she knows better, but she can't help it. |

| i think this song is talking about a girl who is waiting for a guy to stop running around. "outback counting stars" could refer to the "if you wish upon a star" cliche - she is wishing for him. "i think i finally broke her" could have to do with breaking her heart. "i thought she'd always be there holding daisies" suggests innocence in her and a "he loves me, he loves me not" sort of thing. "she always waits for me" no matter how many girls he goes for, she's always waiting for him to come back to her. "i found her out back sitting naked looking up and looking dead" sitting naked could be her being completely exposed, and not having anything left to give. "missed the train to mars" could be her thinking she missed her chance at him "men are from mars"... he's a man haha. | |
