I think this song is mainly about letting go & acceptance. I see it as the end of a relationship, especially with these lines: We won't say our goodbye's You know it's better that way, ^They're saying that it's better off that we aren't together & we'll always be there for eachother type thing. I think you can also apply this to leaving for college & leaving everything behind, which is what first attracted me to the song. |

This song is so beautiful. When I read these lyrics I feel like I wrote them myself; they describe perfectly how I feel with my boyfriend. How I interpret it is that she has lost feelings for her boyfriend & she knows she should break up with him but at the same time she can't picture herself without him. However, she decides to because even though he means everything to her she feels like there is someone better out there for him. |

I completely agree that this song is incredibly written & performed. It's hauntingly beautiful. I think that she is not only talking about the general ups and downs of a relationship, but also feeling self conscious & unsure about losing your virginity. "I climb INTO your body" abstract but easy to interpret way of hinting towards sex "Don't turn the lights on" She doesn't want him to see her because she is self conscious "Do they mean more than me" The "they" is the guys friends. The girl is afraid that he is using her for sex to impress his friends - a way of saying "is what they think of you more important than how I feel" It's kind of an abstract way to think about it, but when you listen to the song it does fit. |
