I love this song, I just rediscovered it. After reading all the comments I want to make a few points on how i understand it. 1. The song is definitely Christian, not only because of the band but also because of the "salvation you claimed" 2. It's certainly not only about college because for Vanessa he doesn't even talk about College I am not a firm believer in God or religion however I can totally relate to this song... For me it's all about how people get lost in the woes of life and give up too easily instead of truly following what would be right for them. Great people who just underperform or become lazy and lose their principles. And while it is true that they don't seem to be close friends to the writer I still think he really liked them or else he wouldn't say it breaks his heart. So yeah that's what I think. |
