Well...This song was mildly annoying and catchy until today. I took charge of something that's been bothering me for a while, and stood strong while someone screamed and spit in my face. That person did not appreciate me. I knew it for a while, but one little thing they told me made me snap. Then when I got home to take a shower and wash off all the hate that had come my way, this song came on. And it was exactly what I needed. Well, at the time I heard the lyrics as "Cause baby I know what you're worth" and the song was inviting the listener to show off their talents and beauty (literal and figurative) to the world. And it was perfect. Listening to the song later it's just catchy and meaningless. But it made that moment of my life almost perfect. Thanks, Katy Perry. |

I do a critical music review video series, and this is next on my list. I've read every interpretation, and personally, I think that you can really think whatever you want. It may or may not be intended that way. Either way, its clearly about some form of hardship, whether just love, drugs, internal struggle, or a combination of them all. Personally, I believe its about someone who lost everything to drugs, and can't get it back. They want to stop the drugs but its their only high, ever. They had an amazing girl but she couldn't stand him doing drugs so she left him. All he has is himself and drugs now, and he wants to end it but that's all he has. He attempts to act like nothing's up, but he knows that they [drugs] haunt him, and that he still needs his fix. |

I know this isn't what it was intended to be about, but it can easily be seen as the USA's economic situation, specifically Wall Street. It can really be about any great power falling due to underestimating what they had. |

It's fairly simple, if you think about it. He'll do anything to love her, but he won't cheat on her or leave her side or anything that goes against their love, "and get it over with," "for love." |

Basically a rant song of all the things wrong in the world/conspiracy theories. "Seatbelts...Strangle me when I don't listen" "Global warming (not warning)" "Mass destruction, atom bombing" Yes, it is. Also, some of the lyrics are wrong. One was pointed out above, and there are a few others in there that die-hard Dollyrots fans could find. Beautifully put together. I love this song. |
