This song is absolutely incredible. To me, its about a man who is completely enamored, utterly intoxicated by a woman who he believes is above him. Somehow, she wants him anyway so he gives in, wants to 'let the stars know they've won'. Most of the song just expresses his complete captivation with her, to the point that she is the air he is breathing, he needs her more than anything. The emotion is intense, enough to give you shivers just listening to it. Its amazing. |

This is the most beautiful song I've heard in a while. My boyfriend introduced me to it and I was surprised Opeth sang such harmonious music when I'd already heard a lot of their... louder, death metal stuff. Because I'm a dork, it speaks of Bella and Edward's relationship in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, mostly of Edward's "issues". |
