The epigraph (or whatever you call them in music) to this song on The Hound Chronicles is from a miniseries called Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones. Relevant? Most likely in some indirect way, but I think so. I could see this potentially being a love song from someone at Jonestown. Though it's not actually the case, perhaps the dressed in green is implying a green-jumpsuit sort of cult uniform? Maybe even a stereotypical alien look? Just throwing stuff out there, please add if you come up with anything more out of this. OK, something a little more ambitious: humanoid aliens abduct both the protagonist and a pretty girl (Jim Jones reference is only there to set stage for quasi-supernatural/conspiracy subject). They get the typical probing procedure together ("ocean's droning" is either probe mechanism or whirring ship), but the girl gets taken away while he is returned 24 hours later. While Kansas has no specific connection to alien abduction, the whole rural midwestern US has that sort of connection, so it makes enough sense to be a plausible Darniellian move. |
