Somebody broke his heart and he just wants to forget about her, but his heart demands justice. Restitution would be her restoring his heart to whole again; The restitution would her job. He's reflecting on the lonely separateness of heart and soul. He can't continue his soul's chosen path of seeking wisdom trust and truth because his heart is demanding attention and distracting him. His soul won't fix it: "when one's heart creates (love) one's soul doesn't owe (the heart sh!t)". And he wants to learn forgiveness so he won't care about restitution and can forget everything. But the only way to forgive is to get right down into the relationship again: to tempt his heart to feel love by displaying love. The message i get: only the heart can heal the heart. Take away the guy singing and the music is cheerful yet cold and almost uplifting. It's like he's laughing at his pain. |
