jbone, that's a completely unfounded interpretation and you're reading too far into your own thoughts rather than what's actually there. just because of the word "white" you assume john did heroin again in real life. even if that was the case, there is not enough within the rest of the song to suggest that argument. |

i know that this might come as a real downer to most people, but this is nothing more than a drug-recovery song. if you've read scar tissue, the anthony kiedis autobiography, the clues are everywhere. bonnie brae was his favorite spot to score heroin. even the way he describes the feeling and temptation is nearly identical in this song. the thing you have to keep in mind is that kiedis is a very personal writer. if you're trying to figure out his lyrics, you usually have to look directly at his life. the oxymoron thing you guys are going for is the conflict between wanting to get high, and trying to stay sober. |
