This song definitely criticizes the US government and its seemingly infinite ability to put profits above it's own people. But it also shows that its not only the government that is the problem, but the peoples' as well. It seems to show that people just jump on the bandwagon, many of the lyrics, as said in the comment above describe it perfectly. I feel as if he's saying that spreading awareness and buying hybrid cars and organics won't solve any problems because it all goes back to the economic problem. The government makes money off of consuming, and that is the only thing America does anymore, we produce and sell very little here, besides bombs, tanks and guns. I really also enjoy the fact that he put in references towards The Bluest Eye and 1984, both really fuckin good books. "reapplied the laws of the bluest eye and the made the truest shade of grey" "rules are the same game speak in doublethink with the action based on guilt holier than thou type thing" Sims is the man, and people need to listen to what he's actually saying. We need to have a little bit of solidarity as a nation, and maybe with time, as a species, but we need to stop living in constant fear. Constant fear of outsiders and each other. |

So this is maybe like how whoever this person was is dying in his arms, he's right next to them. But so far you don't know what happened, if he had killed them or if something else had happened. (Let's writhe, let me see you trip One move that will keep you wet Let's fall in a long sadistic trance Put the keys in our hands) Writhe, refers to violent motion or twist, any movement that happens while your in pain. let me see you trip, it could be a drug reference. the next line can be taken in a sexual manner. third line is a bit confusing, since sadistic is usually a negative word, which brings the word violence to mind. (Guns, razors, knives Fuck with me Guns, razors, knives) The more I look at this the more I get the feeling that the song is about two people fucking, and the guy is just trying to find something to provoke her so they have a fight, he wants to be fucked with because he has violent thoughts running through his mind and wants to let it out. (Let's sail in this sea of charms Let's drown underneath the stars Let's drink with our weapons in our hands Let's sleep in this trance) First line might be about how he used charisma to pick her up at a bar or something, and the other lines talk about how he drinks with the thought of murder in his mind. To her it will all seem like a trance. I'm probably wrong about it but that's my thought, some guy goes to a bar, picks up this chick and kills her while they fuck. |

I think the song is about someone who wants to get back at someone or a group of people for something the did to him. At first he was alright with keeping it all inside, but as time went by he became more and more obsessed over it and he finally snapped. He gave them warnings which they ignored and he finally killed or tortured them or something. I'm not too sure but it's definitely a good song. |

"What everyones going on, lifes falling away." that needs to be changed to "WHEN everyones GONE AND I'M LEFT HOLDING THE BLAME" other then that the lyrics are right now onto the song... I think that its about someone who's thinking about what he's doing at that point in his life, thinking about all the stuff that's happened to him (Ive seen enough of the pain and the shame and the blame, It don't amount up to anything.) But even so, it doesn't amount up to anything in his life, and he thinks back to when the choices he made had no effect on him and now that he's older he wishes that he could have been smarter with what he had done because now those choice have consequences. He can't sleep anymore because he is tired of all the terrible things that are happening to him. He then realizes that he only has himself to blame. It then goes back to the present where he made the wrong decision: (And I cant go on. And I cant explain. When everyones gone and I'm left holding the blame. And I cant rewind. And theres no escape. Its been so long and I just don't feel the same.) And then he realizes finally that there is nothing for him there. or something. |

i dont think its necessarily about breaking up and hating each other about it.
