I think its about a guy who's fallen in love with a girl but he's too young, and now everything is just too perfect. "I see a distant light, but girl this can't be right Such a surreal place to see so how did this come to be Arrived too early" He's saying he's happy but it's too soon for him to settle in this relationship, he wants to go and experience the joys of life with other people. "Gave me your hand but realize I just wanna say goodbye, Please understand I have to leave and carry on my own life" So he tells her goodbye as he wants to do things by himself for a bit.
