It seems to me that he definitely is very interested in a girl and that he knows it's important to break free of any hesitations and "jump in the cold water", but there's more to it. He talks about her waiting so long for him and that he wants her to say the same thing too. It's been like this for a while, and because maybe he's screwed up a few times or whatever, she's not really into him anymore... And that's the sad part: He finally sees that he needs to be with her, but she no longer will accept it. And that's the fight he has to go through now.

Future of Forestry – If You Find Her Lyrics

Although it could very well be seen as a song from a man to a woman, and we all know a song can be interpreted ANY way the listener wants, I'm pretty sure that this song is technically from God to His daughter as previous users suggested. Future of Forestry is a Christian band, so this meaning to the song makes perfect sense. In fact, I believe their own band name is based on a piece by C.S. Lewis, an astounding Christian author!

I think this is simply a song about a broken man, who can't see his meaning in life or purpose in the world, who is saved by a girl who comes along and lights him up. I can relate a little bit. This summer I had been hanging out with a really close friend of mine, and I couldn't have been happier when I was with her. Every day was a struggle where I could barely drag along without just being so completely bored and feeling pointless, but seeing her made it better.

Keane – Spiralling Lyrics

Since I'm a great fan of Keane, I definitely do enjoy this song...but it's still definitely not one of my favorites. It's got a pretty good groove and beat, but I feel like the vocals don't do justice for Tom's amazing voice. It's a little screamy and less melodious. The lyrics seem a little bit pretentious as well.. But hey, I didn't like Coldplay's Violet Hill at first and now I can't stop listening. And the album lived up tenfold, so I bet Perfect Symmetry will as well. :)

This is such an incredible song, and I've thought that since I heard the little preview he gave us a few months back on his blog. Lyrically AND musically, it's great. I absolutely can not wait for a studio recording (the recent live one is just not good enough quality). I think this song is actually pretty simple. I think it's sort of about being big at one point, then drifting off into nothingness when you get older and feel more alone. But there's a few twinges of hope that things will get better and might actually stay that way, in the lines "Hard to see I won't always be alone" and "then someday I'll wash upon someone else's shore".

I interpret this a little bit differently than the rest of you it seems...I think it's more about a guy (or a girl, depending on listener's perspective, I guess) who really likes someone but there's just some sort of boundary. He thinks she might like him or it's possible to get her to like him. They're good friends and talk a lot, and besides actually dating or whatever, they have a mutual attraction ("everything short of I love you"). He's kind of confused about the whole thing, which the chorus represents. I might just be seeing it this way because of a situation I'm in. I currently like a girl that's dating someone else, and we're both really good friends. I always hope, at least, that maybe she likes me or maybe I can work to get her to like me, so this song kind of represents that to me.
