Something happened in this relationship, whether he left, or she left, it doesn't matter, it happened. Starting a day just to close the curtains, means to wake up and just want to shut everything out because he has the hope that one day he'll have her back. He obviously misses her, and sings her this song just so she knows he still loves her. He's a little angry at her, but deep down he knows he doesn't want to go on without her. He gathers songs that remind him of her, which makes him feel an array of many emotions, but, the truth is, he loves her the same.
My ex boyfriend dedicated this song to me, and every time i hear it my heart feels heavy and i get chills, so i get what he's saying. He loved me, and I think he still loves me since I was his first love. Mind you, this was all almost 2 yrs ago, it's amazing what love is. |

I feel, it is about a past relationship, where he basically took her for granted and moved along, time elapses, he meets someone new, someone who surely surpasses this past relationship, but he looks back, and realizes all that he did wrong, he will forever be indebted to her for everything she taught him.
This relates to a lot of people, because at one point in our existences, we are taken for granted, or take someone else for granted without ever looking back and really thanking them for everything they gave to you, or apologizing for the hurt you caused them & of course the last line "You seemed like such a big part of my life and my heart, but the truth is I found someone new, and she easily towers over you", we make ourselves believe that the person was everything we ever had, we meet someone new, and that someone new is far greater than any expected fantasy we have built in our minds. |
