obviously, but i think it's more about how his son has changed his views in life. He has reminded him about enjoying life. Anyone who is a Rocky fan will know that his songs tend to lean towards the darker sign most of the time. I love this song, cause he exposes the other side of him, the side that his son brings out. And no matter how dark the rest of the wold is, his son will always be able to make it all ok. kid I'm gonna be with you longer than the world can stand cause there's a light that's stronger shinning out of your eyes I see it |

| Rocky Votolato – Death-Right Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Basically, using the same quote as redstar, he is saying that you have to earn your right to die. That everyone who has died has done something right in there life to leave behind. For him, in this song, it is his lover. Them being together made his life complete and now he has the right to die. | |

see nathandt3000, you can't always try and fit songs into the artist's life. While that is perfectly logical, and most likely true, the point of music is to inspire and express. To me, this song rings incredibly true. For me, the "sundrenched world" is the man's imagination. He created this amazing world for him and the woman he loved to live in. He made it a world where their love was undamaged from the rest of the world. But, she had left one foot in reality, and that is all the monsters of the real world need to drag her out of the "sundrenched world". Now, he has realized that she can no longer hear his words, feel his touch, or feel his presence. Reality has stripped her of her senses and feelings for him. But, he is too in love to just give in. He asks what it is he can do. Should he try and bring her back to the world he created or is it too late? Should he return as well to reality? Will he belong? This distance has caused their relationship to crumble. Yet, he yearns to fit into her life. He is lost and just wants to be with her. I think that in the end, he decides that he needs to return to reality to be with the one he loves, whether he will fit in or not. He needs to shed himself of his "sundrenched world" and live. Again, the story with the coma is probably the origin of the song, as it fits in with Joshua's personal experience, but there are always more than one way to break an egg. |
