I listen to this song and think about my ex...as im pushing myself at the gym and listening to this im thinking to myself "look at what Ive done and how far I have come. I no longer sit at home wallowing in depression/grief/regret. Im getting my shit together while you sit on your ass and rot. Im tearing it up and focusing on what I want. So F*** you and have a nice day. :)

I to think the song is about a girl who (he thinks) is out of his league. In the beginning it says "if love is a slow dance, I just hope for one chance". I think you can relate the "dance" and the relationship throughout the song. Such as...He meets a girl who he thinks is out of his league. They date and he is a little insecure because she is popular and has had several relationships whereas he is somewhat new to dating. He falls in love and doesnt want it to end. He starts learning through their relationship "every dip and every turn" what and what not to do.
My first real date was with a very popular cheerleader and I was not social at all. She had been in several relationships and I learned a lot from her. So I guess thats kind of how I see it. :) |

"OwnPersonalDemon" up there can kiss my ass! If you dont like the music then why are you on their page? Get the hell off and go comment on the music you like instead of being negative.
This song(and most of Nickelbacks others) happen to be a very well written and thoughtful song that many people can relate to. My father ran out on my when I was 2 and has been a deadbeat dad all my life. I love this song, and Im sure the band members of Nickelback dont appreciate the negative feedback...so grow up |

Wow, lots of entries for this one... but this song I can directly relate to. Its about a guy who is with this girl and he knows that she is not right for him. He tries not to have feelings for her and simply cannot live without her. His life is slowly wasting away with this woman and he cant seem to save himself from the misery that he made for himself. Tries to break up with her and cant bear being without her. He knows whats best for him but wants the girl more...beautiful but depressing song,,,to me anyways. |

This song has such signifacant meaning to me and a lot of others. I think we all interperet it and have slightly different views on what it means.
For me, I am in a 3 year relationship and the motivation levels have just dropped. We argue over stupid things and its just not the same. Well theres this girl I know who is absolutely amazing in every way. And I see her in this song. We used to sit in the room smoking with the ashtrays and magazines. A lot of times we wouldnt say much because of the complicated situation (dangerous silince) but we both knew what we were thinking. Time and time again something got in the way and this is my song to her, saying that It COULD be perfect and it COULD be worth it... |
