Awesome song. I just don't get this one line: "You've got breaking hearts all but down" It doesn't make sense. If she breaks hearts over and over again, then she should have breaking hearts down, right?? It's confusing me. :P |

I thought the whole "she's got a serrated edge" meant her vagina. O_o Cause it's the edge of her body between her legs, and the labia can make the edge of her body there "serrated", instead of completely smooth all the way around. And the "simple machine moving back and forth"?? Love-making?? That's how I saw/see it. :P |

Awesome song. I just REFUSE to believe that he says "YOU'RE our secret space as well". That just doesn't make any sense to me. I think he says "YEAH, our secret space as well". That would make more sense for the meaning about forgetting the flaws in the world. But I guess for the sexual interpretation, "you're" would make sense. Both are valid meanings, I can't choose which I like better. :/ |

I guess I still like it, but this or "You Can Do Better Than Me" is my least favorite song on the album. :/ I have yet to figure out what it means, but, I thought I'd let you all know this. Although it sounds really cool the way Crimsondawn put it, that wasn't really intentional. "Unusually, the tenth song, "Pity and Fear," ends abruptly. I think by the "tongue" verse, he means: He's said "I'm yours", so he could be saying here that, since he is this person's, he's trying to look all nice, clean his teeth/tongue all perfect, whatever you can think of. He could be realizing to just go with the flow, this person loves me for who I am. He's happy with his new realization, and has some fun and draws a face on the glass. Jason Mraz is so cool. He's like the most laid back, care free, fun person EVER! What an amazing singer/songwriter. He DEFINITELY doesn't get the credit he deserves. Not at all. |

Isn't that great writing, though? That is so true about the potential of every relationship. "You got to spend some time, love You got to spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart" He's saying "If you just spend time with me, I SWEAR you'll fall in love." Only stalker-ish thing here is "i will POSSESS your heart" But then again, he could just be saying, what I already said "spend time with me, and you will be so deeply in love, it'll seem like i've possessed your heart" "There are days when outside your window I see my reflection as I slowly pass And I long for this mirrored perspective When we'll be lovers, lovers at last" The first two lines are very stalker-like. Very, very. The last two are what everyone longs for in a crush (in this case, maybe much more than that). "at last" could mean he's been stalking her for a while. "You reject my advances and desperate pleas I won't let you let me down so easily So easily" Even though she's already turned him down, he won't stop. He won't be "let down" without a fight for what he wants. Yes, the intro seems long, but take a drive or something while listening. It puts you in a trance; it's mesmerizing. It's so strange how it is kind of on the borderline of stalker/love. + It's how I feel about someone now. We went out for about a week and she unexpectedly broke it off (I still don't know why). I wish so bad that she "saw the potential." And I long for the day "we'll be lovers, lovers at last." But I'm going to a different high school :[ My dreams are crushed :[ |
