fizzyb and preacherman837.... I can totally relate to both! fizzy, I can relate to some of what u said, I too have depression and this song hits home so much, sking that peels and it just wont heal and Im indiffernt because its easier than trying to fake being happy... but also what preacherman said, I realte to as well because I sin, do stupid and impulsive things that I know are wrong, and do them out of loneliness , and am tortued with guilt during those times. |

by PearlJamRules on 05-27-2007 @ 05:34:16 PM i think the song is obviously about drugs, hence the line "dont you put your drugs in my face...". i think its about how he sees his friends (you/my people) wasting their lives away (passin away) to drugs. the pain in his heart as his watches them is terrible, he would do anything to save them. But, no matter what he will no be dragged down with them. |

I felt this song was about an old friend on drugs, "sad life, but u lived it anyway" and he/she died of an overdose, "as you trip the final line...they hear youre calling home... brush the leaves aside so you can reach us, he/she bascially was already dead, and the friends couldnt do anything but watch him crumble, and they feel guilty for not doing more to help. thats what it reminds me of anyway... |

I feel its about someone who is dying or has died... and their scared, and asking, what will I find...will love be there, give me sign, show me where to look..heaven let your light shine down.. This is my all time fav song, and is in my will to be played at my funeral. |
