| of Montreal – Oslo in the Summertime Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think you definitely need to be non-native to Oslo/Norway to really get this song, which would explain why it wouldn't remind you of Oslo, Linna. I spend my summers in Sweden and I think that you can easily replace Oslo in the song with 'Sweden' and all of it remains totally applicable. Feeling completely stupid in comparison with all of the pretty blonde, tan Scandinavian people around you who can speak English fluently while you fumble to speak Norwegian(Swedish). They never mean to offend but the feelings of inferiority are impossible to shake. Which makes it even more frustrating. And I can't even count how many nights I've spent awake, insomnia only exacerbated by watching the sun rise at 4 as the birds start to wake and chirp. It's eerie to me how well I can relate to this... God I can't wait to see Of Montreal on this tour. |

| Josh Ritter – Naked as a Window Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
These lyrics so perfectly describe some times of my life for me. I don't know that Josh meant any of what I get from it, but anyway... I think that the "naked as a window" means that she's more than just nude. She's transparent in a way. A window when you pull the curtains, like a ghost without its sheet; there's nothing there, just "emptiness all the way through." She's hollow. For me, "held but not touched" hits home. I wouldn't know how to word it otherwise, but Josh does so perfectly. I think she's asking for the comfort and love and trust of him, "to be held." But she doesn't want to be "touched" sexually or even too closely because she feels vulnerable. Because she's feeling so empty and numb that being touched would make her feel like a play-thing. |

| Operation Ivy – Freeze Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don't think this has much to do with the Cold War. Rather, the term 'freeze up' refers to an economic standstill in which one country, "drunk with power", has total control over the world economy. Our progress isn't a positive progression at all, but staggers toward collapse. | |
| Daft Punk – Too Long Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Well, any song you listen to when rolling will make you think that it was made just for ecstasy :P But yeah this song perfectly describes the feeling that I get when coming up on e. | |
