Van Halen – Cabo Wabo Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Can't believe no one has commented on this. The lyrics speak for themselves, telling the story of living the easy life south of the border in Cabo San Lucas. The guitar work on this song is outstanding. |
Van Halen – Ballot Or The Bullet Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is off of Van Halen III, which was released in 1996. Funny, as I've listed to this very song a lot lately, and VH3 was probably the most "politically vocal" album from Van Halen. Very powerful song. |
Van Halen – Runnin' With The Devil Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Many of you are partially right. Rock and roll has long been thought to be "the music of the devil" and this song accurately describes the life of "running with the devil", living the hard rock lifestyle of day to day, no real place to call home, no love of your life, running from town to town at a pace that would kills mere mortals. It's probably one of the most powerful and accurate rock and roll anthems while also being one of the least lyrical and short. |
Bon Jovi – Someday I'll Be Saturday Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
After listening to the demo track of this, a good portion of the lyrics have changed as well as the musical pattern within. There are multiple people "participating" in this song. First guy is Jim, who is a Vietnam vet (lyrics in demo version), and is reduced to literally nothing. Second is a girl who was a victim of abuse or even perhaps rape from her foster father (took my innocence away). Third person is an individual who cannot say their name. At the very beginning of the demo version of the song, Jon says "I'm going drinkin'" This leads me to believe this could be taking place in a bar early in the week (unchaotic, usually filled with those whose lives are attached to the bottle, but often willing to open up their own pandoras boxes of life). Three very different lives all significantly affected in some way, drowning their sorrows in alcohol, contemplating life, but with a slim glimmer of hope left (Saturday night). |
