| I think this is about an ex crawling back to you once they realize that you've moved on. The ex is trying to get the woman back but she basically tells him that he can go back to where he came from because she's found someone who she loves more than she can ever imagine loving him. She's angry for him trying to take advantage of the fact that her new man isn't there with her because in the past with other relationships after theirs she wasn't able to resist his charm and the overall temptation of being with the ex again. But this time is different. She isn't falling short and stands by her new man. I like the song and the message again. That, and the fact that it's always fun to watch your ex realize that they can't get you back once you've moved on. | |

| I agree with the sexual purity thing. He's saying that even though he isn't "clean" in the sight of God, how can he be punished when he really does love her with his whole heart? I think the blank white page could represent his sin and how God can't be in the presence of sin. So with that impurity, until he repents (which it seems like he's doing at the very end) he can't be "clean". | |

| There was a girl at my high school's rival that was killed in a car accident. She was an amazing girl and everyone loved her so much. I personally never got the chance to really get to know her, but from what I could tell she was unlike any other. But one of her friends make a video of her, with recent pictures of her and this song was playing behind it. I have never, in my life, been so touched by a song like i have by this one. Okay this is my interpretation: The wife is basically saying "I'm not stupid. I know what's going on. I know that when you're not with me you're with her. I'm just afraid of loosing you because you're everything that I have." The other woman is saying "I may be the other woman but you really have him and can have him. He rushes home to you and you can hold him at night. That rarely happens for me. I dont have anything to loose but its not like i'm getting all of his attention you know? He gave you his name, all he's given me is an unquenchable desire for his every moment." No doubt they both love him. But. They're both really hurting in this situation. They're left asking all these questions and worrying about whether or not he really loves them at all? They can just imagine him thinking of the other woman when he's with them. It's a song full of heartache and longing and desperation... |

I'd just like to say that Timbaland shouldnt get much credit for this song. All he really did was add a couple dying-animal-type sounds to the mix. I really don't see the big deal. OneRepublic is finally getting recognition for this song, which is ridiculous that it's taken this long. I'm sorry, but Timbaland just didnt do enough to the song to get the majority of the credit. But again, that's just my opinion. On a different note... I dont think this song is about suicide. I think it sounds like he's going to let her die, come to the end of HER rope. I can kinda picture this in a morbid kind of way. They're on this platform ten feet up and he's about to hang her noose style. (this could also be symbolic of course)She's expecting him to let her off the hook like every other time when she says Sorry, but he's kinda sticking up for himself and saying you know what? I'm over that. I'm done taking you back. Screw you. |

So i got really dressed up and dolled up and prom night went so wonderfully. My best friend said she kept looking at the two of us, how perfect we looked together. And all night it was so comfortable between us. So natural. And i really believe we should be together. But he just doesnt see it.
