Okay, I haven't read through all 400 of these explanations, so I don't know whether anyone has said this or not. (I think they have) But I think The Downward Spiral is the character's suicide (or even just his lowest point where everything falls apart) and Hurt is him realizing how much he wishes he could change everything. |

I'd say the words are about never meeting his dad. Still, I care more about how hardcore this song is and less about the meaning. I mean, how can you NOT love the end when he says MUTHER F**KEEEEEER!!!!!?

Personally, I think this song is about politics in general, and how all political leaders are doing a bad job, but the last thing I think about when I'm listening to this song is the meaning. It's just effing brutal. |
