The Script – Breakeven Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is absolutely beautiful and it rings so much truth. It reminds me a lot of my last relationship..He broke up with me, and I felt like I was going to die. I prayed and prayed he'd come back, but no, he didn't. He found another girl. I still have trouble sleeping at night, because I think about him all the time. I still think that the best part of me was him, and I'm all choked up, and he's okay. He's already moved on, but I haven't even started. He's got my heart, but not the pain I've had to go through losing him. That's why I love this song so much. It is truthful about nearly anyone who has ever been through a breakup and the other moved on when you haven't. Anyway, amazing song.

The Killers – When You Were Young Lyrics 16 years ago
This is what I think, based on the lyrics and the music video..which is based on a relationship, rather than just personal affairs.

When you’re young, you have high expectations for reality. She‘s (since the music video is based on a woman and a man, I’ll say ‘she’) waiting on a prince to come, which in the beginning of the video, she is dreaming, then later meets this man who was supposedly “perfect”, and basically he comes to “save her”, like the man had in her dream. Later she’ll realize he isn’t exactly perfect, and doesn’t really “look like Jesus”, either.

Now they’re “climbing a mountain”, which would mean that their relationship is still young, and yet they’re going a little too fast, so they decide that they should “take it slow”. (Later I think that maybe the man didn’t want to take it slow, which is what caused infidelity?)

Now their relationship would probably be just out of control, hence the “burning” and “hurricane”, or in other words, it’s just sort of falling apart, and they can’t really stop it.. At this point, she would be a little older than the point when she met the man, which would’ve made her younger then. Sometimes she thinks about who she was when she was young, and how naïve she was. I think all along she just needed a man who would turn her into a better person, but also be someone who she could really rely on. I think now she would realize that nobody can be truly perfect, like she thought so when she was younger, when she had the dream.

The “devil’s water” would be working against them, like infidelity, or temptations. It “ain’t so sweet”, meaning it’s not right, but ‘maybe’ you could “dip your feet”, meaning that the infidelity would probably occur, every once in a while, but the truth is, if you want a relationship to work, you can’t just do that.

The emphasis on the chorus is that her relationship just kept getting worse and worse, but the man doesn’t have to “look like Jesus”, to be kind, and treat her nicely, and she realizes that perhaps she should give him another chance, because there will almost always be a certain temptation in a relationship, which from the beginning of the song, she would be “playing forgiveness” now. Also, from the beginning, she learns that you can’t just “sit there in your heartache”. You have to do something about it, which is why she was shaking hands with the man at the end.

McFly – That Girl Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is way obvious.

He goes out with his friends, and he notices this girl that he wishes he had. His friends tell him he's crazy, and he could never have such a girl as her. Well, he spoke to her, and got a date with her, and they had lots of fun. And as said, three days later, when he went to see her, she was with another guy, so it had turned out that she was sort of leading him on. Then his friends tell him it will be okay everyday, and they're sorry that he lost her, because he thought so highly of her.

Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics 17 years ago
If you look at the lyrics, "He tastes like you, only sweeter," it is in quotations, and they are definetly not gay.
"He tastes like you, only sweeter," was in the film called Closer starring Julia Roberts.
She said it to her husband, and she was cheating on him.
"One night and one more time," is when she spends her last night with her husband.
Pete thought that the film focused a lot on what happens in real life, so that is why they wrote this song.
