i found greg on myspace - just browsing through indie, unsigned bands and what not and i immediatly fell in love with this song. i know a lot of people relate to songs like these with past relationships and this song in general goes creepishly great with my last relationship. i was seeing this guy for a little under 5 months and i was absolutely head over heals but there was so many unspoken problems. i guess we thought because we cared about eachother so much that the problems would just disappear. we were supposed to take a trip upstate to visit my best friend for a weekend but the plans fell through and a few weeks later we broke up. when he says "i look high and low for yesterday i look high and low for you and i" thats exactly how i feel. we met through mutual friends and it was great bc it was all couples and we all always had a good time and i really miss that part of my life. i dont even talk to those friends anymore. a lot the the time i do things i know that we would enjoy doing together - kinda like how he says "to see your ghost - whats left of you" - its kind of pathetic, but im sure everyone does it. after we broke up i wrote him this long letter about how i truely felt about everything (all the unspoken problems) and at the end of it i wrote i miss you a lot - even though we were still talking at the time i wrote the letter everything was totally different, it was like we were trying to become strangers so we could just get over it fast. a while later, before we really stopped talking, he told me he cried when he read the letter and wished we would have spoke about those things a lot sooner. in the end we really just hurt eachother too much. i havent talked to him in about 4 months but i still feel very close to him. anyway, the song is amazing - greg laswell is amazing. |
