Cypress Hill – Insane In The Brain Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow...few comments for such a classic.

Anyone know what the bassline is sampling?

Arrested Development – Tennessee Lyrics 17 years ago
Song always reminds me of the poem 'Anecdote of the Jar' by Wallace Stevens (which starts out, "I placed a jar in Tennessee"). Not what was intended, but they remind me of each other for some reason.

The Twilight Singers – Bonnie Brae Lyrics 17 years ago
Heard this as the background to a ytmnd (the one about the most depressing Garfield ever). Had never heard of them even though I'm from Ohio. Great, great song.

The Twilight Singers – I'm Ready Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, I live in Ohio and hadn't even heard of them till I was checking out a YTMND with Bonnie Brae as the music (the one about Garfield dying). I *had* heard of the Afghan Wigs though.

I love this song and album. 'I'm Ready' sounds like its about a guy who maybe has been broken up with and is looking for some new girl? But maybe he's not a very good guy and is really just looking for sex? That's just my cursory take on it...

The Killers – Tranquilize Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm surprised there hasn't been more analysis of the songs title, as this would seem to be a key to understanding it. Certainly the form of the song goes from a heavier more intense tone, to a more tranquil mood.

As for whether I like it, its not my favorite Killers song. I sort of find it commonplace and not very enjoyable, musically speaking. Maybe even a touch trite. The lyrics are interesting and catchy, though.

The Promise Ring – Is This Thing On? Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, lyrics are wrong here...might go out to my car and listen and see if I can come back with better.

Its funny how all the other places on the internet have exactly what is written here (which is clearly wrong).

Metallica – Through The Never Lyrics 17 years ago
The rift they play before and during the "On through the never" verse sounds really familiar. Was melody used somewhere on "And Justice for All..."? Maybe the B side? Does anyone know?

Camper Van Beethoven – When I Win the Lottery Lyrics 17 years ago
American Dream indeed. The person talking is about out podunk as you can get. I'm not sure the band isn't sort of mocking that sort of guy a little.

Camper Van Beethoven – Take The Skinheads Bowling Lyrics 17 years ago
Zephyr779 got it. A skinheads head looks like a bowling ball (imagine putting your fingers in their eyes). Actually a bit of violent image after all.
