to me, this song really means a lot.. its an extremely emotional song and has so many reasons and emotions attached to it personally. me and my best friend, who i had feelings for, were going through a hard time.. barely on speaking terms, then i found out i was moving 4 hours away. so i knew it would be too hard to say goodbye to him.. so i wrote him a letter and gave it to him. and i told him this song made me think of him.. that he saved me, and that he was my wonderwall. and that no one felt the way i did about him and there were so many things that i needed to tell him but i just can't bring myself to say them.. some of which i did actually say in the letter. "Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do" -> reality was setting in and he realized he and i would have to say goodbye, that's what he had to do "Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" -> he always knew there was a chance of me moving, and he was heartbroken when he found out the news, he wished it wasnt happening. and about me having feelings for him, everyone knew.. and he had no doubt about it.. but he doesnt really know how strong those feelings actually are "And all the roads we have to walk are winding And all the lights that lead us there are blinding" -> the road that we're on now is so hard and the idea and reality of it all settling in is so touch and blinding, but we can mak it through it all.. if we each want to and can and it kind of goes on from there.. it was the perfect song to leave him with. now everytime i'm feeling sad or under serious pressure or having any doubt, i turn on the song and i know i'm okay. sometimes i put it on repeat and think of the moment we said goodbye but there's no such thing as goodbye.. just moments of change and "see you soons." all in all, this is a fantastic song. |
