I think this song is about the music industry and about whay some artist have to do/feel..(Or something else) .because of when she sings: in the day in the night say it right say it all you either got it or you don't That theres people that have "it" and some don't... Anither thing, is that the artist dreams can sometimes not come true or they encounter some issues trying to make "it": you either stand or you fall when your will is broken when it slips from your hand when there's no time for joking there's a hole in the plan Also about how music sets the artist free and how they don't like the whole "selling out thing" but if they do sell out they can get you more fans or more attention : no you don't mean nothing at all to me do you got what it takes to set me free oh you could mean everything to me And it tells you what as an artist, she/he can give you: from my hands i could give you something that i made from my mouth i could sing you another brick that i laid from my body i could show you a place god knows |
