I'm not dead on, but this is how I look at it. :) Your pale skin is a razor sharp wire so i place these scales over my eyes. (The one he's speaking of lacks exposure of to something. In this case God, and his word. So the scales over my eyes represent him looking past these flaws, or preferences in a girl.) Don't touch me, I'm sick. You whisper, but i hear only what i choose. (the desire to part away from God and his love for you, a desire to drift into worldly desires, it's wrong, the Holy Spirit tells him its wrong, don't do it. but he won't listen.) Hello my good old friend, your hand pulls me back from that mire or will i look back and stare and wonder if she is way back there (God is the good old friend, helping him the mire is liek mud, he's stuck and he is'nt going anywhere, but sinking. not sure if it's really "or i will look back" or "and i will look back" but either way, he will look back to that female that drug him into worldly affairs and desires and she will still be where she was in a spiritual sense, while he will be making progress forward. afterwards my mouth will be filled with gravel and i'm left alone. (In Proverbs 20:17 it says, "Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel" which leads me to believe he obtained something unfairly. But now he's alone and he sees the consequences of his actions.) You know that feeling of fear and desperation in the pit of your stomach making you nauseous. Excitement apprehension you wish you could lose it all. When your head spins and your stomach swells. The fear of dealing with this is stronger that the fear of just forgetting this and future i am scared of you. (nervousness of the future obviously, what it has stored for him. And the guilt of his past actions taking a toll on his conscience.) I swear I'll find my way back to the light now that I'm left alone. (The person in his life no longer has an influence on him. Now that he's alone, he can sort things out.) While i hate attributing a song to a relationship it clearly seems to me it's reflective of the persuasive nature of females over males. Many great men in history had weaknesses through a women close to them. "Be hind every great man there is a great women" I believe in that as vise versa. (Look at Adam and Eve) Quoting Proverbs further confirmed it, because of Solomon (who wrote proverbs) had a weakness for women when they would drag him further away from God, to follow their idles. P.s. Women are not evil, just most of them. :P |
