This song, to me, symbolizes a collective vessel of comfort that every man, regardless of race, creed or class can partake from. This can be religion, love, hope, security or any other common cause we share, and its collective power will be able to deliver the human race out of its slow descent into desolation or war.
A science fiction take on this song would be quite inspirational and opens the floodgates to a million creative ideas. I really enjoyed reading Panzerbane's vision. The imagery I conjured up while listening to this song was a Dystopian city, once under the control of a tyrannic autocracy but now lie in desolate peace after a bloody uprising by its people. The residents and survivors, most of whom are children and young people, gazing upward at the breaking of a new day and the arrival of a new age. Light breaks through the clouds and caress the dilapidated skyscrapers, filling the glass and steel with benevolent light. |
