First off, this song is really hard to figure out. I can see it as an ex boyfriend thats still loves his ex girlfriend, and he is saying to the new boyfriend, that you'll never know her/love her like I do. I really see this song as a best guy friend that loves his best girl friend, and shes the one that always runs to him whenever shes heartbroken. Being the guy friend when you love a girl like this is frustrating, and probably really discouraging; and I think Howie is really explaining how it is to be in that position. abcdefgrace, i actually agree with you too. I am re reading New Moon again, lol. And the part where he leaves her in the woods just makes me cry. I think this song relates to New Moon more than Twilight too. I also think the song describes Bella as she gets sad that Edward leaves her.. it kind of just expresses the emotion in his voice, the sadness. Also, when Edward says "I'm not good for you Bella", or something like that...the lyrics in the song kind of match up when he sings, "Without me you got it all. So hold on." It's just perfect. I usually don't like Rob's singing, because it's hard to understand him, but this song is just so sad and beautiful. It describes Bella and Edwards relationship so well. :] |

| Such a good song. It's pretty clear with it's meaning, but to mean its about a relationship that just didin't work out. He's ready to tell this girl that they have to end it. He then realizes how much he was missing out of when he was with her, and knows that he is better off without her. I don't think this song necessarily means that he hates this girl, i think they are both fine without eachother. so its a pretty great song :] | |

*tears* man, how can such a simple song relate to me so much? its just sad, and i agree what everyone else has said too. by the end of this song, i am usually shedding manyy tears, haha. but at first i was confused with the whole "ice is getting thinner" thing. ice doesn't stay forever, and it soon melts away, and so did their relationship. when it says that the ice is getting thinner, it means that their relationship isin't working anymore, even though you tried so much, there isin't anything you can do anymore. sad, isin't it? |

This is a reallyyyy good song. It has a lot of meaning, so ill just try to break it down to what I think it means. I'm desperate to know how you are. I hope you're deep asleep. But like a dream you disappeared without a sound, without a trace. Oviously, the girl broke up with this guy, and he misses her. I think the reason why she broke up with him was because he REALLY cared about her, but didin't love her, which is what she wanted. "and maybe you found someone who will love you right." I also think the "but like you dream you dissapeared, without a sound without a trace" part is saying how they we'rent talking for awhile after they broke up, which drove him crazy, because he really wanted to talk to her. This song is just so good. Full of beauty and emotion. I think the song is about being hurt very badly by a previous love, and for the longest time, you never learned to trust anyone or let anyone see the true you, like the previous person did. because the person was so hurt, he toughened up so that he made sure that he would never be hurt again, "i am covered in skin." i also think the skin symbolizes a boundry, that no one can enter. but i also think this song is about finding another true love, and finally taking the chance and letting them in to see you, "i am ready, i am ready." just my opinion :] |

I loveee this song. I never knew the true meaning, but what I like to think of this song is someone that has been strugling in life lately, and just needs to be saved and "fixed". The person clearly needs a friend and someone to be with them with their troubles. Being catholic, I think this song is also about God a little. When I first listened to this song, and I heard Tom say, "do you ever feel like you're alone?", I thought that this song would be pretty depressing. But when he says, "I can say I have", it made me feel good, because I dont know about you but when Im talking to someone and telling them my problems, and they tell me that they have felt that way too, and that you're not alone, it comforts me and makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one. The chours of this song is AMAZING. It's basically saying that you need to let go off all the bad shit thats happening in your life and do everything you can to make yourself happy and enjoy life. I think he's also saying that you could be looking for something to make you happy in life for the longest time, but something that makes you happy the most is right in front of you, example: "look for the stars as the sun goes down." I hope I made sense, thats just my opinion of this song... Amazing song overall, makes me feel great inside :] |
