Tristania – Angellore Lyrics

There is obviously some delay/echo and / or reverb, but almost all vocalists use that, or else the vocals sounds very dry. Anyway, this song is totally beautiful. <3 |

Slayer – Disciple Lyrics

This is a good example that lyrics don't have to be poetic and deep to be good, this is superficial, but it's damn good. Kerry King wrote these lyrics when he had a bad day, and you can really relate to this when you have these short misanthropics moods once in a while!
"I hate everyone equally, you can't tear that out of me, no segregation, separation, just me in my world of enemies"
Wonderful ^^ |

Ralph McTell – Streets Of London Lyrics

I really despise this song. First of all, they made us sing it in school over and over again, but first and foremost because of the lyrics. If I interpret it right, this guy is basically saying "Quit complaining about your life, these people suffer more than you do!", which is such a massive demonstration of stupidity and lack of psychological understanding. If you think a beggar necessarily suffers more than anyone in the world, you are pretty close-minded in my opinion. |

I love these lyrics, I can totally relate to them, if they are about what most people think here, being betrayed and mentally destroyed by a loved one. |

Einar has written the lyrics for Heretique and Opus Relinque, so maybe those aren't meant to be a part of the story. |

Tristania – World Of Glass Lyrics

"I'm a falling stone in a world of glass, I'm a ticking bomb with a smiling mask."
Those lines are simple, but so brilliant. I think it's about being suicidal. You know that if you kill yourself, you will hurt everyone who care for you, and you hide your deathwish because you pretend to be happy. Maybe this song is about a drug addict who's becoming suicidal. |

Tristania – Selling Out Lyrics

Interesting interpretation, I haven't looked at it that way before... I just thought it was about depression though. This line always ruined the song for me "And hearts to break" (after "I'm running out of bla bla"), to be sad because you can't break others hearts anymore makes one a pretty bad person I think... But considering Night Sanctuary's comment, this can be seen in a new light. ^^ |

Mortiis has a pee fetish and his ex girlfriend ditched him because of that, she thought he was being disgusting, look:
Even if I walk through all the circles of hell for you.
You wouldn't even piss on me. |

I don't think the lyrics are funny, I think they're very good. Is it funny because it's a character from Mummy? EVERYONE were afraid of Hufsa when they watched it when they were children. |

Sirenia – Sirenian Shores Lyrics

I love these lyrics, they're pretty obviously about the sirens from greek mythology. :) But they might have some symbolic meaning, perhaps temptation, in forms of alcohol, beautiful but dishonest women, etc... I don't know. ^^ |

Tristania – Fate Lyrics

Yes, Østen has said that this is about a suicide bomber. I think the last stanza is about his final thoughts, and perhaps his doubts, if he's really going to do it. The valley of the living dead, perhaps it means that everyone he sees will die, but he can prevent it. "Didn't count the tears I shed", he feels sorry for them. Just an idea :) |

Tristania – Of Ruins And A Red Nightfall Lyrics

LunarStill: It is?? That's cool, where in the book is it? I guess Morten must have been really inspired by LotR in this period, Einar has said in an interview that Morten came up with the song name "Symbelmine" which is an elvish root I think, from LotR? |

Østen said in an interview with VG that this song is simply about being frustrated when waiting for a taxi in the rain. Nothing more sofisticated than that. |
