Slipknot – Dead Memories Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, I was a bigger fan of the old Slipknot, and I'll admit they kicked ass, but bands are entitled to try new things, and dammit this works well for them. So it may sound like Stone Sour, but then again it's not. So if your older fan who doesn't like the newer stuff, then hey, just loop the first two cds and don't bother getting the others. For the newer generation, if you like what you hear your entitled to hear it. I for one like the new generation stuff, considering that this the direction they wanted to go. This a great song for many different reasons, we may to understand what it's about, but I think Corey Taylor is the only who knows definently, and I don't think he's going to talk.

Dir En Grey – Reiketsu Nariseba Lyrics 17 years ago
Next to the english versions of Glass Skin & Dozing Green, this is the third song off the new CD that is completely all in english. It's almost in the same vein as Agitated Screams of Maggots, but more heavier, since Kyo switchs from screaming to gutteral growling in a split-second. To tell you the truth, this song could be better than Agitated, but that's my own opinion. Now right to interpretation ^^. I think the song is about Kyo bashing celebrities, mocking them in a sense(and oh how he mocks them :) ):

'You're the one that's lost now'
Kyo's way of saying "You dug your own grave. Deal with it"

'You shallow shit with that sad little look on your face'
'Why don't you just grow yourself some wings of pity'
Pretty much saying how that person looks so pitiful by putting on an act, telling that person to make your own sypathy, as that person isn't getting it here. Compare this to how a celberity puts on an act to get sympathy for their actions and you'll get the basic gist of it.

'Lose track of who you are,all dolled up as a star...?You make me laugh'
'Money?Fame?Success?'
He begins to mock the person and laughs at how low that person has sunk. He point out how that person has nothing to fall back onto anymore.

'Suck Me'
'Destroy'
A clever way of saying go fuck yourself. Pretty much telling the person to kiss his ass or go to hell.

'Even when you talk big,you do it by protecting yourself'
'Suck Me'
He's saying to the person that their putting on a big act just to prevent their name from being smeared any further. He then adds a personal "Fuck Off" at the end.

The title, Reiketsu Nariseba, can be translated as "Let it be cold-blooded." Just a guess, but it could be considered like a forewarning that he's not going to pull his punches with his statements.

Dir En Grey – Red Soil (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
Now that we've got formalities out of the way, let's get to interpretation. The impression I get from this song is that Kyo is pointing out the major flaws in religion. Not just pointing out, but mocking them in a sort of way:

'Pressing the megaphone against the apostle's open ear'
'Darkness and onamists are in attendance'
'I press a gun against all the spectator's temple now'
'And my face lets out a smile everytime'
'Saving'
There seems to be an intentional typo here by Kyo in the second verse. By replacing the M with an N, you get the word "Onanists." Onanist is pretty much a fancy word used to describe masturbaters and sexual deviants. The person seems to get a kick of ripping apart the moral foundation of a religion. He believe's it's his way of "saving" people.

'It's prostitution to the kids who listen from the right and out the left'
'Twins and seven colors of rainbow'
'It can't be saved, the sorrow'
'I question it all, why oh why?'
He feels that preist's and pastor's feed a bunch of bullshit to children so that way they can sugar-coat the harsh reality of life, without having to tell the truth. He begins to question the madness of why the children believe it.

'The deception of sweetly intertwining'
'It's the same everywhere'
'The flowing of blood mixes'
'I sleep deeply'
He talks about how easily a lie is believed, mixing in with the thought process to blind the truth of it all. The person hopes to never wake up to the stupidity of it all.

'I carve into my heart the sins'
'And I live on dying'
'The sakura blossoms on my wrist'
'Your beloved self breeds on the corpse of the crow'
He rather continue on being the person he is,sinning thru & thru, than to believe in some false god or prophet to "save" him.

'For the people on the losing end'
'Is it tears of emptiness?'
'Burn mercy with the National Anthem and understand death by dying'
'Justice humps in the sheep yard'
He points out how people are metaphorically raped by the teachings of religion, how people are chastised for not believeing in a religious group's set "God", and how people turn a blind eye to violent acts that are committed in the name of God & religion.

'What color of skin gathers behind comfort and eats?'
'The earth sucks the life out and turns itself into red soil'
'A piece of paper and power circles around in the air'
'The shot wound to the head of a cow'
'It's wide open'
He talks about, again, how people can get away with the law in the name of religion, splilling needless blood and dying the earth "Red." He mocks those people by calling them race supremists.

'The genitals of happiness'
'The neutered almighty god'
He mocks the idea of God by calling him a helpless, neutered animal, to put in a sense. He also mocks the people who follow this idea by calling them happy idiots.

This song points out the ignorance & flaws of not only religion, but groups who use religion as a safeguard to justify their actions. A good example of such a group is the Ku Klux Klan. The title "Red Soil" is fitting for this song, considering how much blood has been spilled in the name of religion throughout history.

Even though these are 2 entirely different versions, their meanings in a way are similar. Good job to Kyo though, his english is getting better. I'm trying to find the lyrics to the Before Construction Ver. of the song.

Dang, forgive me for the typo:
It's suppose to read,"He again talks about how practical love is, and questions if it's truly worth living for."

Dir En Grey – Bugaboo (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
I think, but I'm not sure, the song might be about a twisted love affair. In a way this song almost reminds me of Zomboid:

'Trying to figure out how, she puts in her mouth'
'The self-deception'
'Is it bitter and ugly in confusion? Or is it sweet?'
'Don't forget the eyes you see now'
'The fate'
The person has just discovered that his wife (or fiance, hope I spelled that right) has just cheated on him, or has caught her in the act of messing with another man. The person then becomes upset at her and questions the future.

'Lost'
'The justice died just now'
'It killed'
'Rationality and arrogance'
'I am crushed'
The sanctity of the relationship has just been smeared and buried. He see's no futility in arguing with what he thinks is an arrogant person.

'You can't speak the truth without crying?'
'I dare you to just come out and spit it out'
'My beloved with a three-bump belly'
He questions her with the reason why, but see's that she can't speak without tearing up, probably out of guilt. He then suspects that she could possibly be pregnant with the child of a another man.

"Love" is what everyone's supposed to want'
'She lowers herself down and at times gets fucked'
He mocks the concept of the word 'Love' & deduces that his wife is a whore, to put it in simple terms.

'I get A D D I C T E D'
'I' M D E A D'
'The S M E L L, it S M E L L S of saccharine'
"Saccharine" is a type of artificial sweetener, like sweet'n'low. What he probably is saying here is that he is so used to lying and falsehood that it almost develops like an addiction.

'It scatters into the burning-hot mandala'
'The black smoke rises blue'
'Do you want to go back? Or can't you?'
Mandala, in sanskrit, can be translated as "essence + having" or "containing". It is also translated as "circle-circumference" or "completion" in Tibetan terms. In other words, the person points out the fact of how far gone she is, and questions if she can even forgive herself for causing all this grief.

"If to love is just something you get used to, then why even be born at all?"
He again talks about he practical love is, and questions if it's truly worth loving for.

'The catastrophe'
This finally sparks his rage. the affair being the catalyst.

'For whom do we kill?'
'I'm killed again today, by its twisted essence'
'I kiss the destruction type fly'
He lashes out and supposedly kills his wife out of what he believes is the true meanings of love.

'The laughing voice doesn't stop here or forever'
'I skin the soon-to-be-broken eye... '
Like most people who go insane, he begins to break out into an everlasting laughter and begins to claw, almost rip off, the skin on his dead wife's stomach.

The theme, overall, can be described as Guilt with an underlayer of Insanity. It seems to be appropriate considering the word's definition, Bugaboo, is described as: "An imaginary object of fear."

Not to be picky, but you missed a line of lyrics underneath the last line. It should read like this:
The genitals of happiness
The neutered almighty god.

All in all, this is a good song. Kinda creeps me out when Kyo starts spazzing out, but overall, it's good.

Just out of curiousity, are looking at the translated version or the actual english singing version. I ask because there are two different versions on the special edtion, this version here is the jap. version. If the lyrics to the jap. version are different than the jap. version, then yes, I would like to know what the actual lyrics are.

first comment. woot. So far this song(well the whole album)has been my favorite. Everything plays off eachother so well in this song. Kyo's singing also adds a haunting melody to the instruments, it's just so awesome. For what's it about, I can hazard a guess, but it's about trying to continually try to grasp something that's so far high above you, just to plummet bcak down to start over. Just a guess if anyone wants to build off of it ^^

It's such a beautiful song. Words just can't describe these lyrics. They're so amazing. But even though the lyrics are different, the meaning is the same. It's a song of loss and grief.

Dir En Grey – Undecided (Remake) (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
This version, in my opinion, is better than the original. Mostly because of how the acoustic guitars play off of Kyo's voice, adding a touch of romance & sorrow at the same time. When I here this song, a story visualizes in my head. A tragic love story of two people who want to be together, who want to love eachother. But can't because of the differences in their lives(The two of us, with our backs turned against each other, don't have a place to call our own)they shun eachother (I won't leave you I don't want to leave you But your words strike deep into my heart, see?) and in time forget eachother(But your footsteps are getting erased by the waves, one after the other...Time passes by, along with the seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter...)In the end, after so many years though, they find eachother again(Once we met Once we separated and then I met you)and embrace their love again

I now hold possession of the new album, Uroboros. It is their best work by par(and yes I do mean "par", not "far")I've heard two versions of this song, the single and the english version. Bittersweet and Ryuk88 have already hit the nail on the head on what it's about. To sum it all up, it's about a man who is mourning the loss of a relationship that was very dear to him, even though he didn't take it as such at first. So as his own personal penance, he barracides himself from the rest of society to reflect on the relationship he will never get back.

Aiden – Die, Die My Darling [Originally by The Misfits] Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, I've pretty much read every comment on this page. A few of you I agree with and most of you just piss me off. There IS a reason Danzig said it's ok to do covers of his songs, because he's not part of the Misfits anymore, so why the hell would he care. Besides, he's got his own thing going now. Now on to the people who piss me off. I am a huge fans of the Misfits, and I know it's not everyones cup of frekin tea, but I do know damn good music, and this cover isn't it. For you people (and you all know who the hell you are) who say they're showing great respect for The Misfits, how sorely fuckin mistakened you are. Just like Rob Zombie trashed the Halloween remake, Aiden's just fucking mocking them because you don't just fuck up a song for "Great Respect." Creativity wise, oh my God, this is just damn sad. I've seen cover bands do a better version of this song than this hot topic poser-emo flagship called a band. Also for the person who made the "elitist bastard" comment, you must not be able to form your own opinions either, because you sound like the same cliched S.O.B.'s you try to say your better than. This band completely fucking sucks, and I could care fucking less if you all agree or disagree with me. And to bring this to a close, this song wasn't broken to begin with. If there's any mistakes that need to be fixed with this, there's one: Aiden should have never touched this fucking song in the first place.

Dir En Grey – Repetition of Hatred (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
I think I might have an idea of this song is about, except in actuality, only Kyo-sama knows:

"Just bitch as long as you want,I’m just gonna crush something to pieces. Is this really where I belong?"-Just complain all you fucking like, I WILL prove you wrong, but is it even worth it too?

"Persecute all blood that flock together. As it will flow out, the glorification feast"-I'll judge those who judged me and reap the glory in the end.

"Shut them up by force"-I'll make you shut up by any means necessary, even violence.

"It's a perfectly dead passion. It's an entirely dead passion"-It's a justified desire yet its an unjustified desire.

"Parasite children of hatred"-the subject of kyo's hate, whoever it may be.

"I hate you - Dead passion"-I despise you with this justified desire.

"Buried in dirt.Embryo burning.Let’s destroy,My pleasure"-Bury it, burn it, try and kill my desire.

"Slow Down.Move on darkness"-Back off, let the desire consume you.

This is just an interpretation of what I thought the song means. Maybe, it will help some people understand it too.(Great Song though, they never dissappoint me.)

When you think about it, Kyo wrote the song out like a play, which would explain the changes in tones.

Actually, the title, in a weird way, might be connected to the song. If we remember from greek mythology correctly, Hades is practically hell. The song probably relates(just tacking on to the meaning above) to the person suffering from their own personal hell.

I'll go ahead and add my take on it. My guess is the Theme of the song is 'Praying Mantis Syndrome.' It's when after the female mantis is done mating with the male mantis, the female kills the male. PMS(no, not THAT PMS, the syndrom listed above) is pretty much that, but in this sense, applies to women. I believe that the woman in this song suffers from this syndrome. After the woman has sex with the man in this song(unlucky bastard)she kills him, making the line "That person is inside a wall..." make a lot more sense when you think about it. And for those who didn't know what Preying Mantis Syndrome was, enjoy your psychology lesson for the day.

I like this version of the song much more than the one on the Kisou album. The song, in what i believe it means, deals with the whole entire nature of a person's life. In the beginning, born into the world, having to deal with all the stress of death, life, and all in between. The end, when one feels the sweet release of death, finall able to "sleep" in the end.
