i thought the guy was like a doctor or something... and he was always away working like far away places and eventually the gf just got fed up with him being gone all the time and just left while he was gone. and then i guess she decided it was rude to leave without leaving a note so she came back to the apartment and wakes him up from his shock and is like "im sorry but i cant deal with pretending we are in love anymore and that this is working so i'm not saying another half hearted goodbye (like she did when he went on his trips or working late at night in the hospital) but saying its the end"..
maybe i just think this cuz my dads a doctor and is always away and it makes my mom way upset... |

when i hear this song i think about the person i love cuz of the line "have you ever been alone in a crowded room well i'm here with you" because its like... all these people are around you but only one person matters in that way you are alone but they are with you...

i dont think this song has any deep meanings other than what its saying. i think its just about a guy who really liked a girl and she left him for no reason. and he thinks that when she was with him it was a lie ("tell me again just why you lied to me")
and now that the girl is gone he doesn't know what to do because everything that used to be is not even more. and he feels like he needs to be with her even tho he knows she is gone and when she was there he knew she was going to leave.
